Platen Boring Ltd.
Payment terms for on-site platen boring / drilling and thread repairs.
Dear Sir / Madam,
Our normal policy for on-site thread repairs and platen boring is pro-forma.
This is due to the nature of the work concerned, as it is impossible to take back a hole in a
platen, undo a repaired thread, or undo a die location repair.
In certain circumstances, such as large orders, or repeat customers who have good payment records, we are willing to offer our services on a strictly 30 day credit term.
|Pro-Forma||30 day payment terms||60 or 90 day systems|
|You have a machine problem||You have a machine problem||You have a machine problem|
|We sort out how to fix it and arrange a time to do the work||We sort out how to fix it and arrange a time to do the work||See pro-forma, or contact the machine manufacturer.|
|We pick up a cheque, fix the problem, and go away.||We fix the problem and go away|
|30 days later, we get paid|
Our policy is under constant review. As soon as the petrol stations, the supermarkets, and the local council start offering us 60 or 90 day terms we will of course consider amending our payment policy.
Many companies prefer to operate 60 or 90 day payment systems, which they try to force onto all suppliers, this is not acceptable to us, and will result in a pro-forma system being re-instated for any future on-site working. All modern accounts systems allow for the entry of payment terms, and it is not rocket science to type 30 rather than 60 or 90.
Our customers use us because they know we will turn up, do the job, and go away, having done what we came to do.
